Joe Wheeler EMC crews return from Irma restoration        

Trinity – As of late Tuesday evening, the nine crew members Joe Wheeler EMC sent to Florida to assist Clay Electric Cooperative (CEC) in its restoration effort after Hurricane Irma, have all returned safely home to North Alabama. On September 12, linemen Kenneth Hanvy, Greg Boyles, Jeremy Henderson, Tim Gregg, Donald Orr, Sonny Blankenship, Stacey Wilson, Rex Asherbranner, and Jeremiah Engle we sent to aid CEC in Northeast Florida where more than 90 percent of its 170,000 members were left without power.

Joe Wheeler EMC is proud of those who work so hard to keep the lights on. As part of the electric cooperative community, we are honored to send help to other electric co-ops whenever we can.

According to the Alabama Rural Electric Association in Montgomery, Alabama cooperatives sent 215 men to Georgia and Florida to help in the recovery effort.

Joe Wheeler EMC is an electric cooperative providing reliable service to more than 33,000 members in Lawrence and Morgan Counties in Northwest Alabama.
